Garden Design Packages - What's included?

For all projects, regardless of size I like to provide my clients with as much information as possible - plenty of detail about the features, style and layout of the space plus in depth information for the landscapers to quote and build from. So what can you expect from Garden Design Package?  The following images represent the documents presented to clients on a project in Stanton on the Wolds in Nottinghamshire in 2022. The garden has been landscaped and planted inline with the plans created and images of the finished garden can be seen below.

Garden Design 2D Plan Nottingham

Our Garden Design Packages contain a wealth of information, including:

A 2D Garden Design Plan - A detailed 2D colour plan, to scale showing the proposed layout for the garden including paving, pathways, lawn, edgings, terracing, planting beds etc. The plan is annotated with notes relating to the features in the garden.  These plans are produced digitally so they are accurate, clear and easy to interpret.

Mood Boards - Quality colour Mood Boards which convey the mood of the proposed scheme, including landscaping materials, features and planting style

3D Visuals - A series of 3D Photo Realistic Garden Visuals showing various views of the garden to assist in conveying the style, layout and feel of the space. You can see examples on our 3D Garden Visuals page. These are created in-house, digitally using CAD and Rendering Software...

Structure Design Plans - 3D visuals of the structures such as arches, pergolas & arbours, illustrating the style of the feature to the client and landscaper.

Setting Out Plans - These are vital for the landscapers as the plans show in detail the dimensions of all features, pathways, paving etc to ensure the garden is set out and landscaped accurately in line with the Garden Design Plan.

Scope of Works -  This essential document for the landscapers details the work involved in landscaping the project as per the concept plan, ensuring the landscaper is aware of all of the elements in the project, the material quantities required, recommended materials and soil improvement specifications. Along with the setting out plans this will enable the landscaper to quote for the project.

Topographical Survey - generated for all medium-large sized gardens.  Our professional Survey team visit the site and create 2D and 3D plans of the site which are used when we create the Garden Design Plans. We also provide digital copies of the 2D survey plans to the clients for future use.

The Full Package - Once we have generated all of the documents above, we collate them in a package which is posted out to clients. An online meeting is then arranged to discuss any queries the clients may have.   Once approved the next thing to do is approach a trusted landscaping team for a quote and to turn the plans into the real thing. Documents are collated  in digital format and shared with relevant third parties - Landscapers, architects etc. Bel has various teams of professional and experienced teams to call on to transform the garden inline with the Design Plans. Following landscaping Bel and her team plant the garden  following the Planting Design Package Bel will have created for the clients, adding the finishing touches to the space.

I hope that clarifies the level of information we provide in our Garden Design Packages. With this particular project the clients have been delighted with the plans and the final results.

The owners of the completed garden, are very pleased with the results -

"We asked Bel to help us to bring all areas of our garden together following an extension to our house. Bel came up with a design sympathetic to the rural surroundings and achieved our brief of pulling everything together through a clever use of materials and planting. We are not keen gardeners and Bel designed low-maintenance planting, including an irrigation system, raised oak beds and improved original features by adding wooden strip cladding. Bel planted our garden out in the heat of the summer 2022 and returned after planting to check that the irrigation system was working effectively. She has since been back to check on progress and give further invaluable advice on maintenance throughout the seasons. (On top of the detailed briefing notes she supplied) Bel is always extremely professional, quick to respond and genuinely cares that we are happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to recommend Bel.
