Country Garden Planting Design
Bel was called in to offer her expertise and knowledge several years ago in order to help manage this large Country Garden in the village of Rothley in Leicestershire. The 4.5 acre garden with large pond, tennis courts, swimming pool, kitchen garden and extensive planted beds needed an experienced plantswoman to tackle the planting which was become difficult to control. Over the last 3 years Bel has re-designed the garden, creating bespoke planting schemes to develop low maintenance manageable areas which offer plenty of colour and interest throughout the seasons...
It was clear that the garden also needed an experienced gardener to maintain and assist in the redevelopment of the planted areas. Bel introduced the clients to such a gardener who now works in the garden 2 days a week to keep on top of the general gardening tasks and with regular consultations with Bel, is able to successfully care for the planting working from the bespoke maintenance schedules provided by Bel along with the planting design plans. Working in conjunction with the clients and trusted landscape gardeners, Bel has created a Gravel garden, substantial hot borders surrounding an existing pond, traditional mixed shrub and herbaceous borders and a large shade garden beneath mature trees.
